museumderbythKris Patterson of St. Johns is truly a Michigan racing legend.

Inducted into the Michigan Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 2000, he has an amazing record of over 500 wins on the oval track and has set and broken more records than any other Michigan driver.

Kris began his career racing go-carts and Soap Box Derby cars, winning the St. Johns championship in 1968. With the scheduled return of the Soap Box Derby in St. Johns next year, Kris has decided to donate his Soap Box Derby car to the Clinton County Historical Museum, the Paine-Gillam-Scott House.

The Museum, located at 106 Maple Street on the west side of the courthouse, is delighted to have this Soap Box Derby car on permanent display from such a prominent Michigan racing personality.

For further information, please contact the museum at 989-224-2894, email, visit the web page or the Facebook page Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum.
